Hey Everyone!
My name is Marcus Anthony and in case you couldn't tell by now, I am The Boise Vegan(TBV). I wanted to spend this first post talking about who I am and why I created this blog.
Just a small little bit of information about me is that I was born and raised here in Boise and have never lived anywhere else although I travel as often as possible. I graduated Boise State University in 2017 with my BBA and an emphasis in Marketing. At the beginning of this year, I became vegan after watching documentaries like What The Health and Cowspiracy. After being horrified by the meat, egg, and dairy industry, I decided enough was enough and that going vegan was the only way of life I wanted to follow. I'm not here talking about veganism trying to push people to follow the same lifestyle I have chosen. Starting this blog happened because I wanted to do something I love, EXPLORE.
I love trying new things and different foods as well. Being vegan doesn't mean you're restricting which foods you can or can't eat, it means you're free to try new things instead of relying on animals for sustenance. Being a part of a vegan community in Boise means I know where all the hot spots are as far as plant based food goes. I know you're probably thinking, "Get to the point already!" Well here is it is.
I will be reviewing restaurants and their vegan options around the Boise, Meridian, and Eagle area. The big secrets in these areas will be uncovered and my goal of this blog is to be the one stop shop for vegans in Boise, as well as people traveling to our beautiful area, to find the best plant based options as well. My review system(not patent pending) will be composed of a number of factors that will be evolving as I complete these assessments. I will start by doing one review every week and once i get more comfortable at posting, I will increase that as I go.
I can't wait to get started on this project and I look forward to this incredible journey and the opportunity to help my fellow vegans have the best culinary experience when they go out to eat! I hope you all enjoy and I look forward to speaking with you soon!
